At SMG, we strive for excellence in mountaineering through a continued commitment to push ourselves and our clients further, harder, faster and more often. We offer a wide range of custom excursions from afternoon trips to mulit-week expeditions, complete with gourmet camp food, attractive male and female guides, and state of the art rescue techniques and safety procedures so that we never have to use them. Our reputation for successfully climbing the most prominent peak in the immediate Missoula area cannot be paralleled.

We offer gear and product reviews by experts with passion for desirable equipment. But at the same time, we are acutely aware of the needs of the earth. In our pursuit to operate as a green business, we have worked hard to analyze unorthodox products that work just as good as actual “mountaineering gear,” which is really just a marketing gimmick. We’ve all seen people on top of 14ers in blue jeans and converse with only a day pack and flannel shirt, and we tip our breathable, acrylic cotton blend caps to them.
